My Father was born in 1925 and had been given a lovely Martin ukulele by my Grandfather. Fastforward to 2003 and the ukulele had gone missing from my Father’s estate. For the last 9 years I have made at least one of these great little sopranos as a reminder of the fun times he and I had playing his ukulele. These are mahogany back, sides and top. I usually put a single thin maple rosette around the soundhole. I have bound a few in the past, but normally I leave them very simple like his original. I brace mine differently than the originals as I prefer a more music box like chime.
